We're back in South America! We returned to our apartment without water (broken pipe) and our car barricaded in by painters' scaffolding – just another day in Quito! But everything worked out and we are glad to be back…and we want you to know how thankful we are to have you praying for us and supporting us! Our short fund-raising and visiting time in the U.S. had lots of highs and lows, but we feel we are on better financial ground and we can't thank you enough!
We have definitely experienced some "highs" since returning – for starters, Isaiah asked Jesus to come into his heart!! He now has his own little kid's Bible and loves to take it to church, and often talks about going to heaven someday. We are so thankful to God for this! Also, Amy now has received her Ecuadorian medical license – after two years of paperwork, waiting, and working for the government at Hospital Eugenio Espejo, she is ready to work for HCJB Global in our hospital and clinics and also with community development. Thank you for praying for us – you are a part of this celebration!
As Amy gets back into the swing of things with the mission, Tim is preparing for a once-in-a lifetime-opportunity. From October 16th-25th, there will be a huge world evangelization congress in Cape Town, South Africa, with over 4,000 people from virtually every nation. If you are familiar with the Lausanne movement (www.lausanne.org), they are the ones conducting the conference, their third of this size since 1974. Between conferences, there have been countless events, initiatives, outreaches and documents affiliated in some way with Lausanne. My job will be preparing reports in English for radio stations all over the world! If you'd like to pray every day for this leading up to and during the conference, just let us know attimamydawson@gmail.com. One of the themes is helping exploited children, and we would love to have you praying for that.
Since our job relies on fund raising, we're always looking for new ways to offer you to partner with us. Of course, you can always go to www.hcjbglobal.org and sign up for a monthly or one-time donation. Another way to help us is to donate your frequent flier miles. With many airline programs, your miles expire if you don't use them within a certain amount of time after earning them. If you have miles that you won't have the chance to use, would you consider passing them along to us? Especially if they are with Continental, Delta or American Airlines. Just let us know at the above e-mail or call us at 260-484-8435 (NOT an international call if you are in the U.S., since it's an Indiana number) and we'll get back with you. Thanks a ton!
We are so thankful that God has given us the opportunity to serve him in Ecuador. Thank you so much for helping to make this opportunity possible. God bless you!!
Tim, Amy, Ariela, Isaiah and Daniel Dawson
