Thanks for praying for our travel! It was amazing how smoothly everything went today. We loaded up 18 suitcases, 2 car seats, 4 carry-ons (including a guitar), and the stroller and headed to the San Jose airport in the early morning.
Instead of shipping some of our things to Quito later, we opted to take them with us and just pay the extra to have them in the plane cargo hold and they would be here when we arrived (in theory, right?). So, the really nice guy working for Taca Airlines didn't even charge us for the TEN extra pieces of luggage! Wow! We were blessed with an easy day despite all the luggage and taking three little kids with us.
Our new friends Jeff and Tammy Kooistra (and their kids) and Allen Graham from our mission, HCJB Global, were there waiting for us to take us to our new home in Quito. The Kooistras even watched our kids so we could get some unpacking done and brought us dinner. They are so awesome and we just ate like cavepeople we were so hungry! (don't tell Geico)
Our home rental here is just beautiful, and we can't believe we're here! Many of you know this has been a dream of ours for so long, and we want to thank you immensely for your amazing financial support and prayers for us!!! There is a beautiful full moon out tonight that we are enjoying from our balcony as we look out at the city and reflect on how much you mean to us.
Our internet is working (and our phone) so you can reach us at: timamydawson@gmail.com and (260) 484-8435. That's a U.S. number, so it's just like calling us if we were in Fort Wayne.
Have an awesome day!
Love,
Tim, Amy, Ariela, Isaiah and Daniel
